τὰ δὲ ἀρχαιότερα ὄνομα εἶναι Κυπάρισσον τῇ πόλει φασί, καὶ Ὅμηρον ἐν Φωκέων καταλόγῳ τὸ ὄνομα θελῆσαι θέσθαι γε αὐτόν, ὅτι ἤδη τηνικαῦτα ἐκαλεῖτο Ἀντίκυρα· εἶναι γὰρ δὴ τὸν Ἀντικυρέα κατὰ Ἡρακλέα ἡλικίαν.
