The number of distinct places directly connected to the focal place in the pre-Pausanias MANTO place graph.

Build an undirected graph from eligible place-to-place MANTO relationships, add each place's somewhere-in-or-near parent relation, and count the focal node's distinct adjacent place nodes.
The place has direct narrative or containment links to more places.
These descriptive statistics use the current labelled cohort after aliases have been collapsed to one row per MANTO place.
